Rumor: Rosario Dawson set to appear as Ahsoka Tano in The Mandalorian

According to Slashfilm, Ahsoka Tano will appear in a live-action production for the first time ever.

Although nothing has been officially confirmed yet, Peter Sciretta of Slashfilm is very confident: according to him, there is no doubt that Dawson was cast as Ahsoka Tano in The Mandalorian.

Ahsoka is of course known as the Jedi Padawan who made her debut in the animated film The Clone Wars and the consecutive animated series of the same name. Later, the character returned in Star Wars Rebels, and more recently her voice (voiced by Ashley Eckstein, the original voice actress) was heard in The Rise of Skywalker, the final installment in the Skywalker saga.

It is unknown if Eckstein – provided the rumor is true – will perform Ahsoka’s voice again. The last thing we saw of the character in Star Wars canon is how Ahsoka and Sabine Wren set out together at the end of Star Wars Rebels to bring Ezra Bridger home. Rebels was set between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, where The Mandalorian takes place several years after Return of the Jedi (about 20 years after we last saw Ahsoka and Sabine).

For now we take this rumor with a grain of salt. Season 2 of The Mandalorian is scheduled for release in October on Disney+.
